Holiday Gift Ideas for Electricians

11/30/2020

Gift Ideas for the Electrician in Your Life

If you’re shopping for someone that loves gadgets, it may feel daunting, especially when they seem to have every contraption known to man. One thing is certain, people who are into tech gadgets or anything electrical love to try out the latest toys, which should make gift-giving for the holidays a breeze. But electricians sometimes call for special gifts that are unlike other tech gifts.

If you’re lost for gift ideas for the lineworker or electrician who is also a gadget lover, we've put together a handy list with some of the best tech and electrician gifts of 2020 for those who seem to have it all.

Gift Ideas for Electricians

Electrical gadgets are one of the best gift ideas. Here are a few ideas to get creative ideas flowing

  • A Smart Power Strip and Wi-fi Surge Protector – For any electrician, gadgets that allow you to sync lights, devices, and more to a timer or manually turn them on or off from your smartphone. Control all the plugs in your home, even when you're not there, with a Smart Power Strip and Wi-fi Surge Protector.

  • An Electric Smoker – Whether he or she is a beginner or a master smoker,  they’ll appreciate the benefits of an electric smoker. Some digital electric smokers even feature Bluetooth technology so you can monitor and control your smoker temperature from your smart device.

  • Hand-Crank Phone Charger - When you’re in an emergency situation and don’t have an outlet (or electricity) to charge your phone, a hand crank phone charger can be a lifesaver. Just plug it in, give it a few cranks, and check your news feed. A hand-crank phone charger can be used for more than just your phone, too. Since most of them have high output USB ports, you’ll be able to charge cameras, tablets, GPS devices, flashlights, Bluetooth speakers, etc.

  • Insulated Screwdriver Set – Safety is always first when it comes to the work of an electrician. Brands like Wera offer insulated tools that are tested individually for dielectric strength under a load of 10,000 volts so as to ensure safe working with loads up to 1,000 volts.

  • A Leatherman Tool – This is one of those must-have tools for everyone, but especially for journeymen or electricians. The 19-tool Leatherman includes such items as a wire stripper, electrical crimper, and wire cutter.

  • Light up Bicycle Helmet - For the lineworker or electrician who enjoys cycling in their downtime, an LED light-up bike helmet is a great idea. Bike helmets like the Lumos Kickstart helmet light up so bikers are more visible at night, and it even has a turn and brake light for an added layer of safety.

  • Never lose those keys again - We all have a lot to keep up with, and finding keys in a rush shouldn’t be one of those! With devices like the Tile, they’ll always know where their keys are. The Tile Mate Anything Finder easily attaches to a keychain and can be located from a smartphone.

  • Keep Boots Dry All Season! The spring and winter mean a lot of rain and snow for most of the country. When weather disasters happen, the conditions for electricians and lineworkers are usually pretty rough, too. A boot dryer to dry out boots between jobs will be a handy tool to have around to keep gloves, boots, and garments dry after long, wet days.

  • Ugly’s Electrical Reference, Spiral Bound – While it’s not an electrical gadget, it sure is a useful resource to keep handy for any electrician. Ugly’s Electrical References is the gold standard on-the-job reference tool for electrical industry professionals. Offering the most pertinent, up-to-date information used by electricians, including updated NEC code and table change information, mathematical formulas, NEMA wiring configurations, conduit bending guide, ampacity, and conduit fill information, transformer and control circuit wiring diagrams, and conversion tables.

  • For novelty and personalized gifts for electricians such as t-shirts, jewelry, key chains, and coffee mugs, there is no better source than Etsy for all things local and handmade.

These gifts can also be wonderful energy-saving and cost-efficient. We understand that expenses can run high during the holidays, so why not save in other ways, too? Before you go, here are three energy conservation tips you won’t want to miss.
