COVID-19 Community Response

In these challenging times, our cooperative principle of Commitment to Community has greater meaning than ever before. As one of the guiding principles in our not-for-profit business model–it’s who we are proud to be. Today, we work together with our members to help those affected by issues related to COVID-19 while responsibly doing our part to help power you through the unknown.

As a family of electric cooperatives and public power districts, our distribution members reach consumers at the end of the line, many of whom have been directly impacted by COVID-19. To learn more about our response, how our members are responding and the amazing work being done in communities across the West, watch our videos and read the articles below.

Tri-State’s Crisis Management Team is taking actions across all functions of our operations to mitigate potential impacts, including:

  • Ensuring our critical generation, transmission and operations team are staffed and have the resources needed to safely operate our power system;
  • Implementing best practices to protect employees from the spread of COVID-19, including achieving social distancing for employees through work from home programs and enhanced facility cleaning processes;
  • Coordinating with local, state and federal health and emergency management officials to ensure reliability, protect public health and support community health initiatives; and
  • Postponing in-person meetings with our membership in accordance with public health directives, including postponing our Annual Meeting and other membership committee meetings
