Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry board adds Walz
Barbara Walz, Senior Vice President of Policy & Compliance/Chief Compliance Officer, was voted on to the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry board today.
The state chamber of commerce champions a healthy business climate through advocating for a pro-business government, increasing a skilled and educated workforce, working to maintain and improve the cost of doing business in Colorado, helping shape the legislative agenda and offering resources for running a business.
Walz accepted a 3-year, state chamber board term.
Walz came to work for Tri-State G&T in 1997. She leads staff responsible for government relations, external affairs, environmental compliance, environmental policy, reliability compliance safety, security as well as other external operations. In her role, Walz is responsible for developing and supporting corporate policies and initiatives related to energy and environmental issues at both the state and federal levels.
In addition to her new role with the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry, Walz serves on the Steering Committee for the Coal Utilization Research Council, is the board president of the Colorado 4H Foundation and sits on the executive board for the University of North Dakota College of Engineering and Mines.
