Tri-State announces two new senior vice president positions
- Chris Pink named Senior Vice President, Operations; Lisa Tiffin named Senior Vice President, Energy Management.
- Appointments bring additional expertise to Tri-State leadership team.
(Westminster, Colo., April 8, 2024) Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association has appointed two new senior vice presidents, the not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative has announced. Chris Pink has been named Senior Vice President, Operations, and Lisa Tiffin has been named Senior Vice President, Energy Management.
“As Tri-State continues to implement its strategic plan and work on advancing its priorities on behalf of our members, we saw an opportunity to bring additional expertise into the leadership team,” said Duane Highley, Tri-State CEO. “These new positions will allow for significant collaboration between generation, transmission and energy management teams, and we believe this approach is an opportunity to elevate critical business knowledge in support of our priority initiatives underway and into the future for Tri-State.”
Pink has more than 15 years of service at Tri-State, most recently as vice president of engineering and construction. Since 2023, Pink has been leading the alignment of Tri-State’s engineering and construction groups, pooling the generation and transmission cooperatives’ expertise. He has been responsible for developing and implementing Tri-State’s transmission and generation capital plans, which are essential to bolstering Tri-State’s reliability and resilience, to pave the way for more cost-effective power delivery to its members. He also represented Tri-State on the Colorado Coordinated Planning Group, a joint, high voltage transmission system planning forum for the state.
Pink received the bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, in Golden. Previously, he worked as research engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, also in Golden, where he was involved in research and modeling of advanced systems to interconnect both renewable and conventional distributed generation systems to the utility grid. He has also been engaged in designing, installing, and commissioning protective relay, controls, and distribution systems.
Tiffin has more than 17 years of experience at Tri-State, starting in energy markets and most recently as vice president of planning and analytics. Tiffin led efforts to develop Tri-State's 2023 Electric Resource Plan and its Level II reliability standards, which will help ensure Tri-State 's reliability and affordability, which meeting future growth on behalf of its members. She was the recent recipient of a 2023 RMEL Industry Leadership Award at the not-for-profit energy trade association’s fall conference.
Tiffin received her Bachelor of Science degree in political science from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill. She has previously worked as manager for the ETRM practice area at the Structure Group, an IT services and consulting firm, and as manager of power services for the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency.
Pink and Tiffin assumed their new roles in April.
