Direct Load Control Switches RFP
Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association is seeking a direct load control (“DLC”) switch solution to support its recently filed demand response (“DR”) portfolio as well as future flexible load management offerings. Tri-State has deployed a Distributed Energy Resource Management System (“DERMS”) with its vendor partner OATI and now seeks to select the hardware solution and integration layer that will integrate into the DERMS platform.
Tri-State’s selection of a DLC solution and future partner will be based on criteria including but not limited to:
- DLC hardware technical capabilities, options, and pricing
- Integration software solution and operability with OATI’s DERMS platform
- Market expertise with DLC switches, utility DR/DER programs, and technology roadmap
The goal of this RFP is for Tri-State to identify and select a DLC hardware solution that will allow Tri-State to deploy its DR portfolio successfully based on current and anticipated future program designs. This will be a multi-year relationship with DLC switch orders occurring on an annual basis at a minimum. The scale of switch orders is forecasted to be 1,200 and Tri-State expects for switches to be installed across its entire four-state service territory. Responses are due September 26.
