City of Boulder signs contract with Tri-State for sale of hydroelectric power

The City of Boulder signed a contract with the Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association on May 21, 2018, for the sale of hydroelectric power generated at five of the city’s eight hydroelectric plants. 

The City of Boulder had previously sold hydroelectric power to Tri-State from the Boulder Canyon Hydroelectric plant. This agreement renews the contract for Boulder Canyon power and adds generation from four facilities: the Orodell, Sunshine, Maxwell and Kohler plants. 

Tri-State holds 66th Annual Meeting of its membership

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association held its 66th Annual Meeting on April 4 in Broomfield, Colorado, with 440 electric cooperative representatives and industry officials in attendance. Tri-State is the cooperative wholesale power supplier to 43 member electric distribution cooperatives and public power districts in Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico and Wyoming.

Tri-State employees help build affordable housing in Montrose

On a sunny, mid-March day, the Habitat for Humanity worksite in Montrose was humming. The three-story structure’s walls were up, the roof open to the sky. Somewhere inside, nail guns and hammers were making a racket as volunteers framed the second story.

In true co-op spirit, our Tri-State Montrose team members readily gave up their day off to help on a local Habitat for Humanity build.
